The Construction Lawyers Society of America (CLSA) is honored to announce the 2026 Edward P. Meyerson Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Jonathan S. Kitchen of the Kitchen Law Group. The award was presented to Jonathan by Ross Fishman of Fishman Marketing at the 2026 CLSA Conference & Induction of Fellows in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
The Edward P. Meyerson Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes excellence and commitment at the highest level over the career of a deserving lawyer practicing in the area of construction law. The award honors visionaries who have created constituencies and inspired, mobilized and/or unified others in expanding and developing the specialty of construction law within the justice system and in furtherance of the common good. Recipients are those whose leadership has had national or international impact, who practice the art of advocacy at a preeminent standing and who are committed to those they represent in the pursuits to which they are assigned.
Jonathan Saville Kitchen is a nationally recognized trial lawyer whose more than four decades of experience exemplify the excellence honored by the CLSA’s Edward P. Meyerson Lifetime Achievement Award. Founder of Kitchen Law Group, Jonathan has handled complex construction litigation across the country and internationally, representing clients in matters involving construction delays, building defects, foundation failures, moisture intrusion, and multimillion-dollar class actions. His distinction as a construction lawyer stems from an exceptional combination of legal skill and firsthand industry knowledge: he is also a builder who has constructed homes and apartments and worked directly with architects and engineers. His experience, coupled with intellectual curiosity and rigorous attention to evidence, allows him to master highly technical disputes and make complex construction issues understandable to judges and juries. His successful defense of an $80 million class-action and his extensive work for national homebuilder Taylor Morrison, demonstrate the caliber and impact of his practice. Known for his ethical advocacy, strategic insight, and collaborative approach, he has strengthened both the practice of construction law and the community of lawyers who practice it. His career reflects not only exceptional service to clients but also a lasting commitment to collegiality, professional excellence, and the advancement of construction law.
